The Chaser, Dave Stryker's new CD on Mel Bay Records, is his second release for the rapidly growing guitar label and his 19th CD as a leader.

DownBeat Magazine named Big City, Dave's first project for Mel Bay Records, one of the best CDs for 2005.

Big City spent thirteen weeks on the JazzWeek chart and was the label's second CD to reach the top ten.

Two tracks from Big City were selected for inflight play on American Airlines.

Dave grew up in Omaha and moved to New York City in 1980. He was voted one of the Top Ten Guitarists in the 2001 Downbeat Critics and Readers Poll and a Rising Star in the magazine's 2004 Critics Poll.

His first book, Dave Stryker's Jazz Guitar Improvisation Method, was published by Mel Bay Publications in December 2005.
